Director, Data Science - Graph & Insights

Job Summary

Lead the vision, roadmap, and execution strategy for TelevisaUnivision's household and identity graph capabilities, establishing technical direction and best practices for graph science, identity resolution, and machine learning. Manage and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists while remaining hands-on with complex technical challenges, guiding architectural decisions, and delivering high-impact analytical solutions. Own and continuously improve graph assets including entity resolution frameworks, conflict resolution methodologies, and audience segmentation, while evaluating and integrating new first-party and third-party data sources to strengthen graph quality. Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Ad Sales leaders to prioritize initiatives that drive competitive advantage and translate complex findings into actionable recommendations for executive decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Science, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field
  • 3+ years of experience leading, managing, mentoring, and developing technical teams
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale data science initiatives from concept through production
  • Proven experience defining technical strategy and influencing cross-functional business and technology decisions
  • Strong expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, graph-based analytics, and quantitative methodologies
  • Advanced proficiency in Python
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL
  • Experience working with large-scale cloud-based data warehouse environments such as BigQuery or Snowflake
  • Experience conducting complex analyses that drive measurable business impact
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and executive audiences
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple complex initiatives and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Data Science, or another quantitative discipline
  • Must be willing to work in the US
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience building pseudonymous identity frameworks leveraging device graphs
  • Experience with household graphs, identity graphs, entity resolution, or conflict resolution frameworks
  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or another quantitative discipline
  • Experience working with very large datasets and distributed data processing environments
  • Experience developing proprietary data products that support advertising technology, personalization, customer analytics, or audience measurement
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across highly matrixed organizations
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to translate business priorities into scalable data science solutions
  • Strong relationship-building, coaching, and leadership skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment while balancing strategic priorities and execution
  • Full professional proficiency in English and either professional Spanish proficiency or the desire to become proficient in Spanish
  • Knowledge of and active interest in TelevisaUnivision content is a plus
