Job Summary
Director, Data Science role leads machine learning projects across diverse business analytical needs, coordinating with senior business and technology partners to develop solutions, overseeing end-to-end process to push code from research to production, and delivering measurable impact. The role involves consulting with senior partners to identify priorities, executing data identification and qualification activities, presenting reports to both technical and non-technical audiences, and collaborating as part of a team to solve applied problems. You will have a PhD or Master's in ML/CS/Statistics/Physics/Finance with 6+ years of industrial experience, deep Python expertise, data-centric ML techniques, productionization experience, ability to manage multiple projects, guidance on AI/ML use cases, strong leadership and communication skills, and interest in quantitative finance and modeling financial markets. The Fidelity Onsite Working Model is in effect for this role, with some roles requiring onsite presence; this transition does not apply to fully remote roles. Located in Boston, MA, USA, with explicit onsite expectations for this location.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or Master's in ML, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, or Finance (with a background in Statistics or ML)
- 6+ years of industrial experience
- Deep expertise in Python
- Experience with data-centric ML techniques and building efficient inference tools
- Experience taking a model from research to production and delivering measurable value
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience guiding business on AI/ML use cases and contributing to brainstorming sessions
- Excellent planning, project management, leadership, and communication skills
- Experience communicating results to business stakeholders with clear data visualizations
- Interest in quantitative finance and modeling financial markets
