Job Summary
Lead the organization's cyber monitoring and threat detection efforts by managing the SOC/Infosec teams for 24/7 continuous monitoring, alert triage, and threat hunting. Coordinate responses to active security incidents, breaches, and cyber threats while establishing Key Risk Indicators and providing regular security posture reports via automated dashboards. Evaluate, implement, and optimize security monitoring tools including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms to mitigate attack surfaces. Enable continuous control monitoring and ensure compliance with industry regulations such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CMMC. Design and lead tabletop exercises, manage purple/red team drills, and direct emergency response strategies. Translate complex cyber concepts into actionable language for the C-suite and board of directors. Maintain a US government security clearance with Top Secret eligibility and SCI clearance.
Required Qualifications
- US government security clearance
- Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technology discipline
- 15 + years of experience in the information security, security operations, or technology risk management
- Proven leadership experience
- 5+ years of program and project management experience
- Experience with estimating and forecasting
- Experience with budget and financial management
- Experience with staffing / hiring and resource management
- Deep understanding of network security
- Deep understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Deep understanding of frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or CMMC
- Ability to perform business impact analyses
- Ability to align security investments with overall company objectives
- Experience managing conflict and developing win-win solutions with others
