Job Summary
Lead the U.S. Customs Compliance team within a matrixed global organization by setting priorities, defining performance expectations, and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations through regular on-site meetings and in-person engagement. Provide strategic oversight for import/export operations, duty management, and trade program utilization while managing relationships with customs authorities, responding to CBP inquiries and audits, and overseeing HTS classification, country of origin determination, and supply chain security programs. Drive duty optimization strategies, validate First Sale programs, and implement a robust compliance governance framework including policies, internal controls, and audit programs to mitigate risk. Monitor global trade regulations, interpret policy changes, and communicate actionable insights to senior leadership to drive continuous improvement and process automation initiatives. Represent the company in external forums and government advocacy efforts to influence trade policy. This role requires a hybrid schedule with a strong emphasis on in-person leadership and collaboration in Greensboro, NC.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in customs compliance or global trade
- 8–10 years of experience in people leadership, with a proven track record of building, developing, and managing high-performing, diverse teams
- Licensed Customs Broker
- Deep expertise in global customs regulations, laws, and compliance procedures
- 5+ years of experience working with U.S. trade programs, including C-TPAT, with an established network of customs brokers, government agencies, and industry stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience serving as a subject matter expert and influencing senior leadership while driving cross-functional alignment and continuous improvement
- 5+ years of experience leading process automation or digital transformation initiatives within customs compliance
- Strong strategic planning, roadmap development, and execution capabilities for complex initiatives
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving global trade environment
- Ability and willingness to work on-site in Greensboro, NC on a hybrid schedule, with a strong emphasis on in-person leadership, collaboration, and team engagement

- Experience in apparel, accessories, beauty, or jewelry industries
- Experience with trade and supply chain systems such as Descartes, SAP, PLM, and Infor Nexus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
