Job Summary

Director, Creative at DEPT® leads high-concept, brand-defining creative across touchpoints and end-to-end campaigns with a focus on brand strategy, integrated campaigns, and breakthrough content. The role champions an AI-forward mindset, integrating emerging AI tools into creative workflows while mentoring a world-class team, collaborating with craft leadership, and driving successful client relationships. Responsibilities include translating business goals into design principles, leading cross-functional teams, driving workshops for high-level stakeholders, overseeing large-scale projects from branding to websites, partnering with strategy and product teams to streamline workflows, nurturing design talent, and delivering innovative, results-driven creative execution. Key skills include senior leadership in branding and digital experiences, mentorship, storytelling, client/vendor relationship management, executive-level communication, and familiarity with AI-enabled creative processes. 8+ years in agency or startup environments, strong presentation/public speaking capability, and proficiency with or openness to AI-driven creative workflows are required; experience with Weavy, Gemini, and Jasper is a significant plus.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years in agency or startup environments
  • AI Initiative: Deep experience in adapting and implementing AI tools within creative workflows to drive efficiency and innovation
  • Mastery of visual design, branding, content, and typography
  • Expert presenter and public speaker capable of articulating technical and strategic concepts to stakeholders at all levels
  • Skilled at building long-term partnerships with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Proactive, self-motivated strategist who remains optimistic and decisive under tight deadlines and in changing environments
  • High attention to detail regarding process efficiency, goal setting, and documentation
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams with empathy and foster a culture of mentorship and creative experimentation
  • Excellent ability to translate business goals and brand strategy into actionable design principles and world-class digital experiences
  • Proficiency or hands-on experience with Weavy, Gemini, and Jasper is a significant plus
