Job Summary
Director of Corporate Strategy & AI Intelligence leads AI-driven research, piloting, and strategic advisory work to identify growth opportunities for Scotts Miracle-Gro’s Strategic Acceleration unit. Responsibilities include researching and piloting cutting-edge AI tools and LLMs to uncover potential partners, conducting market forecasting and competitive intelligence, delivering data-driven recommendations on Partner vs. Build vs. Buy for new concepts, and providing centralized technical insights to M&A and New Business Development teams. The role also oversees an AI Market Intelligence team (Managers and Analysts) and integrates advanced AI tools and automated workflows into daily strategic operations. Collaborates with Directors of M&A and New Business Development and participates in monthly Sync-and-Accelerate meetings. Starting pay range is $175,700–$206,700 per year, with incentive eligibility and state-specific pay thresholds for remote roles in certain states.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
- MBA or advanced degree highly preferred
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in Corporate Strategy, Management Consulting, Venture Capital, or Corporate Development/M&A
- Hands-on experience piloting and deploying LLM-powered solutions, custom GPTs, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows
- Proficiency with Python or R for data analysis, market scraping, or API utilization (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face)
- Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Chroma), BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI), and workflow automation platforms (Make, Zapier, LangChain)
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing analysts or strategic managers
