Job Summary

Direct communication strategy for large initiatives, create internal plans, and advise leadership on messaging while coordinating across stakeholders. Manage resource plans, recruit talent, and oversee performance management to align workforce with business objectives. Direct strategic communication plans by consulting clients, analyzing data, and managing budgets and schedules. Oversee complex activities including vendor relationships, brand definition, and tracking performance metrics. Lead project components by assembling teams, managing forecasts, and overseeing financials and deliverables. Implement change management strategies, monitor key performance indicators, and resolve critical issues on a 24-hour/on-call basis. Create, review, and approve complex content ensuring alignment with brand guidelines. Pacific Time Zone required; up to 30% travel during bargaining years.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years experience in internal communications
  • Minimum two (2) years experience managing operational or project budgets
  • Minimum three (3) years supervisory experience
  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Humanities, Business, Social Science, or related field
  • Minimum ten (10) years experience in communications, writing, marketing, or a directly related field
  • Additional equivalent work experience in a directly related field may be substituted for the degree requirement
  • Must be able to work Pacific Time Zone hours
  • Travel maybe up to 30% during national bargaining contract years (every other year) and no more than 10% during non-national bargaining years

Desired Qualifications

  • Four (4) years experience supporting leadership communications
  • Four (4) years experience creating and executing stakeholder management plans
  • Five (5) years professional experience in community management and the development of social media content
  • Five (5) years professional experience in the development of digital or multi-media content
  • Two (2) years in health care or another heavily regulated industry (e.g., Banking)
  • Three (3) years experience working in an organization with union represented employees
  • Five (5) years experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Five (5) years project management experience
  • Four (4) years experience in change leadership or communications support
  • Masters degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Humanities, Business, Social Science, or related field
