Director/Coordinator of Residence Life

Job Summary
Oversee all campus housing operations, including room assignments, occupancy, and break housing, while recruiting, hiring, and supervising Resident Directors and Resident Assistants. Develop RA training schedules, implement duty rosters, and foster a vibrant residential community through educational and social programming. Manage housing databases, keys, and access, partnering with Facilities, Housekeeping, and Campus Safety to maintain safe residence halls. Administer the student conduct process, serve as a hearing officer for conduct cases, and act as a trained investigator for student conduct and Title IX matters. Respond to residential emergencies, student crises, and behavioral concerns, coordinating with the Behavioral Intervention Team and other support committees. Maintain accurate conduct records, ensure Clery Act compliance, and develop policies that enhance the student experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in residence life, student affairs, housing, or a related field
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and respond effectively to student concerns
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
- Ability to move throughout campus, including residence halls, and the ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours
Desired Qualifications
- master's degree
- Experience supervising professional and/or student staff
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supervising Residence Directors and Resident Assistants
- Experience responding to student crises and providing student support
- Experience serving on a Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), CARE Team, or similar student support team
- Experience or willingness to complete training as a student conduct and Title IX investigator
- Growth and 'doer' mindset and institutional teamwork ethic
- Creative, strategic, thoughtful, and has a sense of humor
