Job Summary
Director of Content Marketing at Gong owns the full content engine across the customer journey, writing and editing flagship thought leadership, customer stories, Gong Labs research, and digital content; defines a distinct editorial voice, leads a team to deliver high-quality content across channels, translates complex AI concepts into compelling stories for revenue leaders, partners with cross-functional teams (Product Marketing, Growth, Sales) to drive demand, and builds scalable processes, calendars, and quality rubrics to optimize content impact and KPIs across awareness to expansion.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of content leadership at a high-growth B2B company or in high-tier business journalism with a portfolio demonstrating genuine craft
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team of in-house and freelance creatives at high velocity
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with a track record of crafting compelling headlines and content
- Deep product empathy with ability to translate product demos and customer insights into editorial angles
- Strong grasp of B2B buyer journeys and content's role in demand generation; ability to connect editorial to pipeline and attribution
- AI fluency; understanding of how LLMs and AI agents reshape work and content discovery
- Portfolio demonstrating writing with density, utility, and a clear point of view over buzzwords
- Strategic KPI ownership; ability to map content programs to business outcomes and discuss share of voice and pipeline influence
