Job Summary
Lead construction management activities for the West Seattle Link Extension, overseeing contract compliance, budget, and schedule while directing Principal Construction Managers and consultants. Monitor field operations on active construction sites, manage change orders and contractor negotiations, and lead discussions on project status to the Executive Project Director, Board, and federal agencies. Resolve complex contract issues, manage stakeholder inquiries, and develop work plans to ensure quality delivery within project constraints.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field
- Eight years of progressively responsible experience in construction management of large, complex transit/transportation projects with various project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Progressive Design/Build)
- Six years of leadership, budgetary, planning and workforce management experience
- Valid Washington state driver's license
- Advanced knowledge of construction management principles, practices, and techniques for major transit infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated expertise in both civil and systems construction
- Strong understanding of various project delivery methods and contract structures
- Experience with public sector construction and relevant regulations
- Expert knowledge of construction safety requirements and quality management systems
- Work is performed in a hybrid environment with an expectation of working in office a minimum of 3 days per week
- Positions working in field may occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, physical harm, hazardous chemicals, and/or extreme noise
- This position is responsible for working on active construction sites
- May be subject to bending, crawling, eye/hand coordination, grasping, hearing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, talking, seeing, walking
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Civil Engineer license issued by the State of Washington or Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
