Job Summary
Director of Communications, Concerts at Live Nation will lead national and local publicity efforts for touring artists, developing and executing strategic communications plans that amplify artist visibility and drive earned media opportunities. The role involves building and stewarding relationships with national/regional/industry media, creating and distributing press materials, pitching high-profile opportunities (feature stories, broadcasts, press days, junkets), advising internal stakeholders on media positioning and narrative development, managing media inquiries and crisis communications, and leading storytelling initiatives across traditional and new media (social, podcasts, influencers, creator platforms). The candidate will shape narratives across tour cycles, monitor media trends, track campaign performance, and collaborate with marketing, social, digital, artist relations, and global teams to ensure messaging consistency and impact. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring junior team members and driving cross-functional collaboration, with the goal of sustaining artist visibility and fan engagement throughout tours at national and local levels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Minimum 8+ years experience in communications and PR
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong relationships within the Music & Entertainment Industry
- Experience in communicating, pitching, and securing national media
- Good eye for detail, writing ability, and proofreading skills
- Ability to work day, evening and weekend hours, plus travel as needed
- Ability to multitask several projects while meeting deadlines
- Interested in the music business with leadership ability and strong organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Understanding of social media, social editorial and influencer landscape
- Experience with Trendkite, Muckrack and Critical Mention is a plus
- Experience in managing and mentoring junior team members
