Job Summary

Director, Compensation for Mars Veterinary Health leads and designs compensation and rewards strategy for the VCA network, partnering with MVH Total Rewards to ensure competitive, equitable programs. Responsible for developing and overseeing the VCA Production-based commission program, leading annual compensation planning (merit, bonus, living wage, market adjustments), conducting market benchmarking and job evaluations, advising on pay equity, and supporting benefits strategy. Serves as a subject-matter expert on DVM compensation models (production-based and hybrid structures), mentors a team of compensation professionals, and collaborates with VCA leadership, Finance, Field Leadership, and clinical leaders to align rewards with Mars strategy, governance, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include analytics, governance, and reporting to support strategic decisions and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CCP or other professional compensation certification
  • 15+ years of experience in human resources with progressive leadership within compensation or total rewards
  • experience designing and managing performance-based incentive programs for a dispersed workforce
  • strong analytical and communication skills, ability to translate data into actionable insights
