Job Summary
Director and team lead for the UWPM group within Community Finance, overseeing underwriting and portfolio management for stabilized proprietary and multi-investor fund structures, including LIHTC equity in affordable housing. Responsibilities include strategic leadership, internal approvals for equity transactions, portfolio surveillance and risk mitigation, process innovation and data management, and mentoring a high-performing team of underwriters and portfolio managers. Requires deep knowledge of affordable housing finance, LIHTC equity structures, upper/lower-tier risk management, and the ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The role emphasizes driving risk-aware growth, ensuring regulatory alignment, and delivering strong financial returns within Capital One’s risk appetite. Bachelor’s degree or military experience; 10+ years of relevant experience; Master’s degree preferred. Role notes that Capital One will not sponsor new employment authorization at this time.
