Job Summary
Directs communications and marketing activities for government departments, advising the minister and senior management on communications implications. Leads planning, development, and execution of communications and media relations initiatives; coordinates media relations, events, stakeholder relations, and marketing within the department and with central teams; serves as principal adviser to the minister. Requires strong writing/editing, planning, coordination, and the ability to develop innovative communications solutions, work independently, and lead a team in a fast-paced environment. Role involves in-office leadership with potential travel across the province and occasional after-hours commitments.
Required Qualifications
- University degree or two-year college diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related discipline
- Minimum seven (7) years’ experience working in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field
- Bilingual ability may be required (French and English) for some positions
- Eligibility to Work in Canada
