Director, Collections Decision Science & Strategy

Job Summary
Director-level leadership role leading the design, deployment, and governance of predictive decisioning strategies for outbound collections across multiple channels. Owns production decisioning within platforms (Pega Collections, Debt Manager, dialer systems), partners with Compliance/Risk/Ops, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives recovery performance through segmentation, treatment strategies, and channel policies. Requires extensive experience deploying ML/statistical models to production, translating model outputs into executable decision logic, leading cross-functional initiatives (A/B testing, cadence and routing strategies), and delivering executive dashboards on KPIs like RPC, PTP, and cures. Emphasis on governance, change management, and scalable, explainable solutions in regulated financial services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or related field, or commensurate work experience
- 7 years of experience in decision science, collections strategy, credit risk analytics, or predictive modeling within a regulated financial services environment
- Hands-on experience deploying predictive models into production decisioning or collections platforms
- Experience operationalizing machine learning models (e.g., XGBoost, decision trees, logistic regression)
- Strong SQL skills; working knowledge of Python and/or R
- Experience with collections platforms or dialer orchestration tools (e.g., Pega Collections, Debt Manager, Aspect, Genesys, Noble)
- Demonstrated experience designing and analyzing A/B testing and champion/challenger strategies
- Strong understanding of FDCPA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, Regulation F, UDAAP, and privacy regulations
- Ability to translate analytical insights into operational strategies and measurable business outcomes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
