Job Summary
Primarily responsible for ensuring code compliance for inspections related to construction and events permits; oversee maintenance and capital improvement projects; provide technical support for capital projects and events in coordination with ECSC/WNY leadership. Responsibilities include leading construction inspections, recommending notices of violations/stop work orders, reviewing tenant fire safety and equipment inspections, reviewing annual maintenance and capital plans, maintaining contact with tenants and officials, preparing briefs and administrative documents, and supporting ESD Western New York activities. Requires in-office presence with hybrid options; travel is required. Must have an associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred) with at least four years of relevant experience and demonstrated knowledge of construction aspects of the code; ability to read drawings and oversee code enforcement tasks; valid New York Class D driver license.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, business or related field. Bachelors preferred.
- Minimum of four (4) years relevant experience.
- Two years of experience working directly with the code.
- Ability to read, review, and comment on preliminary/final design drawings, construction documents, and specifications for public infrastructure, capital improvement, and building projects.
