Job Summary
Director, Interoperability & Interfaces to lead enterprise-wide interoperability strategy and oversee design, governance, and execution of integration for HL7, FHIR, APIs, and data exchange across EHRs, labs, payers, and HIEs with a focus on secure, scalable interfaces and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in healthcare IT with significant leadership responsibility in interoperability, system integration, or health data exchange
- Extensive experience with HL7 (v2/v3), FHIR, CCD/C-CDA, X12, ADT, and API-based integration in a clinical environment
- Knowledge of interoperability frameworks, including TEFCA, Carequality, and CommonWell
- Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, NextGen), interface engines, and health information exchange platforms
- Proven track record of managing complex integration projects and cross-functional technical teams
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, privacy/security standards, and health IT certification criteria
- Preferred Certifications HL7 Certified Interface Developer, HL7 or FHIR proficiency certifications, PMP, CPHIMS, or CHDA, Cloud integration or API management credentials (e.g., AWS, Azure, Mulesoft)
