Job Summary
Director, Clinical AI role serving as the clinical backbone of Pelago's AI-driven mental/behavioral health care programs. Oversees day-to-day clinical operations of the AI arm to meet quality, compliance, regulatory, and documentation standards; collaborates with product/design/engineering for clinical annotation and quality reviews; represents clinical priorities in cross-functional strategy; engages external partners and health agencies; and helps shape the long-term vision for AI-assisted care. Requires Master's or Doctoral degree in a clinical field with active licensure and 8+ years of clinical experience in mental/behavioral health, including 3+ years in leadership. Demonstrates hands-on AI fluency, capability to work with AI tools in clinical workflows, and strong collaboration across clinical, technical, and executive audiences. Hybrid role with NYC office (3 days/week) and strong emphasis on aligning clinical care with technology and product development.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in a clinical field (e.g., LCSW, LPC, PsyD, PhD, or equivalent) with active licensure required
- 8+ years of clinical experience in mental or behavioral health
- At least 3 years in a leadership or manager-level role
- Experience at the intersection of clinical care and technology or digital health
- Hands-on AI fluency: ability to integrate AI tools into clinical or operational workflows and evaluate model outputs
- Strong technical collaboration skills with product and engineering teams
- Experience managing external partnerships and engaging with health agencies or vendors
- Strong communication and influencing skills across clinical, technical, and executive audiences
