Job Summary
Manage department resources by working with Hub Group Operations to promote carriers, increase volume, and improve relationship efficiency. Source opportunities for improved performance and margins, then collaborate with account Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership to identify and progress new carrier opportunities. Develop strategic plans for the carrier base, oversee quarterly business reviews for top carriers, and research market pricing for new business assessments. Provide leadership through projects and bids, establish performance goals for staff, and raise resource or financial concerns with senior management. Oversee department resource planning and execution while maintaining industry expertise on transportation trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics and or related fields
- 3-5 years' work experience in third-party logistics, in operations and/or customer facing role
- 5 years' experience in leadership/management role
- Solid understanding of transportation and logistics principles, economics, and supply chain network behavior
- Outstanding leadership abilities including problem solving, interpersonal communications, goal orientation, teaching/coaching, self-discipline and systemic thinking
- Excellent communications skills; presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written
- Customer service/interaction skills and experience
- Computer Proficiency (Word, Excel, Databases, Internet)
- Problem solving skills; ability to use good business judgment and make decisions
- Ability to travel as the business requires
- Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Transportation industry preferred
