Job Summary
Director of Business Development 1 at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems leads end-to-end account management for a key customer, guiding early shaping through proposal and post-award relationship stewardship. The role requires integrating NGMS divisions, leading an opportunity-rich pipeline, shaping capture strategies, and delivering executive-level briefs to senior leadership. Travel up to 50% to customer sites or NG facilities is expected, with a hybrid telework option available at specified U.S. locations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years in defense-sector BD/capture (or relevant military experience), demonstrated leadership of large multi-disciplinary teams, deep DoW process knowledge, and strong communication skills, plus US citizenship and the ability to obtain Secret and SAP clearances. Preferred qualifications include ownership of full-cycle account management, ability to translate market intelligence into winning strategies, and top Secret clearance or an MBA/advanced degree.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of defense-sector business development/capture experience or relevant military experience
- 5+ years leading large, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver win-focused outcomes
- Deep knowledge of DoW acquisition and/or operational processes
- Exceptional executive-level communication and briefing skills; experience influencing senior government officials and corporate leadership
- US Citizenship
- Ability to attain/maintain a Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a SAP clearance
