Director, Brand and Communications

Job Summary

Lead the development and execution of Versaterm's global communications strategy across media relations, corporate reputation, and brand storytelling. Drive proactive and reactive media engagement to strengthen the company's position as an industry leader, including thought leadership, issues management, and executive visibility. Own the enterprise content strategy across corporate channels, develop integrated editorial calendars, and steward brand positioning and voice across all external platforms. Manage PR agency partnerships, oversee corporate announcements and product launches, and lead crisis and reputation management planning. Partner with industry analysts and associations to secure earned visibility for executives and the organization. Establish performance metrics, foster a culture of collaboration, and integrate AI and emerging technologies into the strategy and programs. This role requires a security clearance from the Government of Canada.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
  • 10-15+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations or related fields
  • 5 years of leadership experience
  • Experience developing and evolving brand positioning, messaging and corporate narratives in a high-growth B2B technology environment
  • Strong media relations expertise
  • Experience managing and collaborating with creative and communications agencies
  • Exceptional storytelling, writing and executive communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technology and business strategies into compelling, human-centered narratives
  • Experience developing SEO-informed content strategies
  • Experience leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve development, workflows and team effectiveness
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability
  • Security clearance from the Government of Canada
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance
