Job Summary
Director-level role in KPMG Strategy Advisory focusing on Banking and Payments IT M&A due diligence, integration, and separation. Responsibilities include leading Buy-Side and Sell-Side IT assessments across banking/payments domains, directing IT integration/separation initiatives from planning through execution (covering retail/commercial banking, merchant acquiring, issuing, processing, and digital payments), developing go-to-market strategies for technology M&A offerings, establishing governance frameworks, and mentoring junior staff. The candidate should bring substantial IT leadership and M&A experience in Financial Services, familiarity with platforms like core banking/payments systems and data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks), and be able to communicate with CIOs/CTOs and payments leaders, with willingness to travel and no visa sponsorship required.
Required Qualifications
- Eight years of recent experience in technology or technology leadership consulting or advisory, with a proven track record of leading IT transformations and advising on complex Mergers and Acquisitions transactions
- Master of Business Administration degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field is required
- Experience leading IT transformations and advising on M&A in Financial Services, with expertise in system integration/separation, platform migration, IT architecture modernization, outsourcing of IT operations, or regulatory technology implementation
- Strong program management skills and ability to oversee large, complex projects and deliver strategic insights to executive audiences
- Familiarity with AI-powered platforms for due diligence, synergy analysis, and integration/separation planning is a plus
- Proven track record leading IT-driven M&A engagements (pre- and post-deal) within Banking/Payments sectors; knowledge of core banking/payments platforms and IT implications of regulatory changes
- Understanding of IT best practices and large enterprise IT ecosystems (ERP, business applications, cybersecurity)
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to develop and execute IT strategies aligned with business objectives
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to serve clients
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship
