Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer role at Galaxy focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance back-end systems, APIs, and databases powering web and mobile applications for a new fintech product. Responsibilities include fostering technical excellence, collaborating with frontend, product, and DevOps teams; architecting scalable, secure, and efficient server-side solutions; implementing code quality practices, testing, and deployment; staying current with trends in back-end development, blockchain, and fintech; and leveraging AI tools to boost productivity and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of experience in back-end development, with at least 2 years in a senior role
- Must have experience from a retail brokerage
- Hands-on development experience in Node, Express, TypeScript and related frameworks like Nest.js to build REST APIs and other services
- Strong experience with SQL and some exposure to NoSQL
- Experience with Microservices and Event based architecture
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience in using Caching and Messaging Queues like Kafka
- Experience using Postman and Git / Bitbucket
