Job Summary
Lead the Core Member Platform team by defining technical vision, building the roadmap, and scaling back-end platforms that power critical pages in Coupang's mobile apps and web, including Home, Search, Category, Detail Page, Cart, Checkout, and Order. Drive the creation of a highly scalable, highly available, and robust system capable of handling millions of global user requests, extending operations from the Korean market to regions like Taiwan. Mentor engineers, lead concurrent projects in an Agile environment, and collaborate with product teams to align stakeholders on mission-critical initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software development experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience leading multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Experience as a mentor and tech lead
- Experience in defining technical strategy and building roadmaps to mission critical projects - aligning stakeholders and lead engineers in the process
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to make the platform open and extensible to unlock innumerable opportunities for innovations
- Solid understanding of Engineering and Testing fundamentals - knowledge of industry best practices in design
- Deep-dive and handle critical system issues
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience working on software design and development in Java, Scala, Python
- Hands-on experience with designing, building, and deploying scalable, high available distributed multi-tier services
- Large global system architecture design and development experience
- Experience in defining technical roadmaps and vision
- Experience with cloud computing with AWS
- Experience of developing on Kubernetes environment
- Experience of developing data pipelines with Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra, Kafka, and Airflow
- Experience with Java / IntelliJ / Spring environment
