Job Summary
Director B position to provide scientific and operational leadership for a multidisciplinary bioengineering research program focusing on tendon and ligament injury, healing, repair, and regeneration. Will coordinate research activities with the Principal Investigator, supervise personnel, develop collaborative initiatives, and support strategic growth of the laboratory. Requires an experienced scientific leader capable of managing complex programs and advancing high-impact discoveries in musculoskeletal tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Note: position contingent upon continued funding. Eligible candidates typically hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5-7 years of experience (PhD preferred), and possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Location is Philadelphia, PA (University of Pennsylvania), with responsibilities at the Perelman School of Medicine and associated labs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering (PhD preferred) or Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biology, or related field
- 5-7 years of related experience (7-10 preferred)
- Demonstrated experience managing complex research projects and multidisciplinary scientific teams
- Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal biology, tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, mechanobiology, or related areas
- Excellent leadership, organizational, project management, and communication skills
