Job Summary
The Director oversees residential services ensuring client safety and needs are met while promoting social engagement and development. Responsibilities include advocating for clients, performing daily reviews of incident reports and care forms, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing staffing and food service plans. Candidates must meet educational and experience requirements, including a Bachelor's degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences and supervisory experience, along with proficiency in technology and interpersonal skills. Physical demands include the ability to lift 25-50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a Social or Behavioral Sciences discipline
- Three (3) years related work experience
- At least two (2) years supervisory experience
- Familiarity with mental health theory and practice
- Proficient technology skills utilizing either a Macintosh or Windows platform, including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
Desired Qualifications
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Knowledgeable and sensitive in working with culturally diverse staff and clients
- Solid knowledge in social helping and a positive approach to complex mental health issues
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including both oral and written
- Strong skills in organization and planning
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple people and projects
- Ability to prioritize tasks, exercise sound judgment and confidentiality with sensitive information
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff, community agencies, and consumers
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a current state driver's license and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years
- Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check
- Ability to pass a physical exam and TB test
