Job Summary

Director of Athletics Health Care Administrator provides leadership and oversight of athletic health care services for varsity student-athletes, exercising independent medical authority for diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play decisions. Responsibilities include developing and reviewing health care policies, overseeing sports medicine facilities and staffing, coordinating pre-participation exams and documentation, maintaining HIPAA/FERPA/compliance, managing risk and emergency action plans, supervising athletic training and performance staff, coordinating referrals, injury prevention and return-to-sport progression, supporting student-athlete mental health in collaboration with CAPS, and aligning health care with NCAA guidelines. The role includes administration of budgets, participation in committees, and ensuring high standards of care and safety across all varsity sports. Required qualifications include a Master’s degree, MA licensure as an Athletic Trainer, NATABOC and CSCS certifications, CPR/AED certifications, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen training, proficiency in EMR and MS Office, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse students and staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in related field
  • At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in athletic training and sports medicine, including supervisory experience
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in MA
  • NATABOC Certification with ongoing continuing education
  • CSCS certification with continuing education compliance
  • CPR/AED certification and Instructor CPR/AED
  • Blood Borne Pathogen training per OSHA
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and supervisory abilities
  • Experience working with diverse student-athletes and campus constituencies
  • Ability to manage change, foster initiative, and adapt to evolving requirements

  • Master’s Degree in related field
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in the Commonwealth of MA
  • NATABOC Certification with ongoing continuing education
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification with continuing education compliance

  • Blood Bourne Pathogen training in compliance with OSHA regulations

Additional Requirements

  • Must have a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License and maintain insurable driving record per college criteria; complete college vehicle training within 60 days; ongoing driving record review as per insurer criteria
