Job Summary
Analyze new and existing products and services to identify risks and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including the Investment Advisers Act. Review, draft, and negotiate agreements of varying complexity, while performing legal reviews on marketing materials, client communications, and press releases. Identify and mitigate risk implications for business strategies and product plans, and assist in preparing external requests for information and proposals. Provide pragmatic, timely legal advice to management and business heads across global timeframes. This hands-on Associate General Counsel role supports product teams in designing regulatory-compliant solutions and managing an affiliated climate data entity.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree
- 10+ years' experience both in-house and at a law firm
- Experience working with a regulated entity
- Knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act
- Strong communication skills
- An ability to work across a broad range of product areas
- Ability to work independently and to adapt effectively in frequently changing working environments
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple competing projects and clients simultaneously and effectively
- Ability to work global timeframes
- Willingness to work off hours
- Desire and ability to learn new and complex areas of law quickly
- Ability to give pragmatic, quality and timely ad hoc advice to all areas of the organization including to management and business heads
- New York Base Salary Range
