Job Summary
Lead the Asset-Liability Management function in Bermuda, driving alignment of assets and liabilities, balance sheet optimization, and compliance with Group policies. Produce and update local Capital Market Assumptions, review new products and reinsurance transactions to establish hedging strategies, and oversee SAA implementation across shareholder funds and liability portfolios. Manage day-to-day hedging transactions with investment teams, generate economic scenarios for reporting and valuation, and monitor ALM risks through stress testing and liquidity analysis. Prepare ALM dashboards for the Board and Investment Committee, support statutory filings, and engage with regulators and external stakeholders on capital optimization and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Fellow of at least one of the well-known actuarial organizations (e.g. the Society of Actuaries, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or the Actuaries Institute)
- 10-15 years of related work experience in life insurance, consulting, or insurance solution roles in banks or asset managers
- Extensive ALM experience
- Understanding the interactions of the ALM and investment decisions with different Finance and Actuarial metrics including solvency, IFRS earnings, embedded value, and the impact to the liquidity position and policyholder returns
- Strong knowledge in financial and ALM risk management via derivatives, reinsurance or other alternative risk transfer mechanisms
- Knowledge of economic scenario generators and actuarial ALM projection and modelling tools
- Basic understanding of the Bermuda regulatory framework and capital regime
- Basic understanding of the insurance market in Asia and Bermuda, in particular the insurance products that are commonly used for the high-net-worth clients
- Proven leadership track record and ability to engage with senior internal and external stakeholders
