Job Summary
Director, Applied AI to lead Denali's applied-AI practice by setting strategy for how AI creates value across the company, designing and shipping AI solutions hands-on from data to production, and partnering with senior leaders to scale AI initiatives. The role requires building a cross-functional program, driving measurable efficiency gains, and ensuring compliant paths to production in collaboration with Legal, Quality, and Regulatory. The candidate will evangelize and establish repeatable playbooks for applying AI across diverse workflows, and communicate strategy, progress, risks, and ROI to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, engineering, or an equivalent technical field
- 10+ years building and delivering solutions with applied AI/ML at the center of recent hands-on work
- Fluent in Python and hands-on building generative AI / LLM applications (RAG, fine-tuning, agentic workflows) through to production
- Direct experience in a regulated life sciences industry (pharma, biotech, or medical devices), including GxP
- Experience with AI frameworks such as ISO/IEC 42001 and NIST AI RMF
