Director, Annuity & Insurance Product Due Diligence

Job Summary
Lead end-to-end due diligence and approval processes for annuity and insurance products, including variable, fixed, indexed annuities, and life insurance solutions. Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative assessments of product design, guarantees, crediting methodologies, fees, insurer financial strength, and associated risks. Evaluate products based on client outcomes, suitability, and risk-return characteristics across various use cases. Prepare clear, well-supported recommendations for Product Review / Governance Committees and maintain consistent diligence methodologies aligned with regulatory expectations. Establish and manage ongoing monitoring frameworks for products across the lifecycle, tracking insurer ratings changes, performance, and contractual updates. Monitor regulatory developments and lead escalation actions when risk profiles change. Engage with carriers to assess underwriting, operational capabilities, and service models. Serve as a subject matter expert for audits and ensure alignment with FINRA, SEC, and state insurance regulations. Partner cross-functionally to deliver rigorous diligence practices supporting informed decision-making. Work a hybrid schedule of minimum four days weekly in one of our Atlanta, La Vista, Oakdale, Scottsdale, Berwyn, or St. Petersburg hubs.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience in annuity and/or insurance product due diligence, product management, or research within a broker-dealer, insurer, or wealth management firm
- Deep expertise in annuity products (variable, fixed, indexed) and life insurance solutions
- Strong understanding of insurer financial strength analysis and ratings methodologies (e.g., AM Best, S&P, Moody's)
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including FINRA, SEC, Reg BI, and state insurance regulations
- Experience presenting to governance committees and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited university
- Master's Degree
- Must be located at one of the listed hubs (Atlanta, La Vista, Oakdale, Scottsdale, Berwyn, St. Petersburg)
- Must be willing to work a hybrid schedule requiring a minimum of 4 days weekly in the office
Desired Qualifications
- Professional designations such as CFA, CFP, CLU, ChFC, or similar
- Experience working across both broker-dealer and advisory/RIA platforms
- Familiarity with retirement income planning and protection strategies
- Experience improving or scaling diligence processes through technology and data
