Job Summary
Lead investment oversight of the China insurance JV and AMC, advising stakeholders on China investment markets and asset management practices. Responsibilities include applying investment management best practices, optimizing asset-liability management, and guiding the JV/AMC in developing investment strategies. Conduct assessments of portfolio investment opportunities and risks, collaborate on risk reviews, and monitor ALM risk exposure. The role requires a minimum of 10 years in ALM or investment oversight, deep knowledge of insurance asset portfolios, and proficiency in English and Mandarin.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in ALM and/or overseeing the investments of an insurance asset portfolio
- Degree holder in finance, actuarial science, statistics, or other relevant degree
- Familiarity with designing appropriate ALM and asset investment strategies
- Experience with designing appropriate reporting and control frameworks
- In depth knowledge of the business drivers, processes, and operating model of AMCs in China
- Exhibit leadership skills to recommend constructive change and obtain management buy-in
- Strong ability to perform well in a high pressure and complex environment
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills
- Proven analytical, planning, and organizing skills
- Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin
Desired Qualifications
- Professional designation in Actuarial or Investment, such as FSA or equivalent
- CFA required
- Experience in health insurance will be an asset
