Job Summary
Director of AI Strategy & Transformation (Onsite) leads Longroad Energy's enterprise AI program from strategy to transformation, partnering with senior leadership across functions to define a multi-year AI strategy, governance, tooling, operating model, and change management. The role focuses on enterprise-wide assessment of AI usage and opportunities, translating AI innovations into workflow redesigns and capability shifts, and serving as the organization’s AI evangelist and executive advisor. It is an onsite role based in San Francisco, CA or Boston, MA, reporting to senior IT leadership, with potential to grow the team (AI Analyst report) as the program scales. Responsibilities include enterprise strategy & assessment, AI-driven business transformation, change management and cultural adoption, evangelism and executive advisory, tooling & governance, cross-functional use case delivery, capability building, and measurement of AI transformation value. Preferred qualifications include certifications (Prosci, PMP, AWS ML), experience in renewable energy, and familiarity with industry data ecosystems (PPAs, tax equity, GIS/KMZ, ISO/RTO data). Salary range is $185k–$225k plus bonus and comprehensive benefits; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience leading enterprise strategy, business transformation, or large-scale change programs
- Demonstrated track record as a transformation leader with ability to drive durable change across functions
- Broader technology leadership experience across enterprise data infrastructure, operational technology, or IT governance
- Hands-on fluency with leading frontier LLM platforms (Claude strongly preferred), including prompt design, agents and skills, and integration patterns
- Strong strategic thinking and executive presence, able to challenge senior leaders and drive use-case delivery
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with teaching/coaching instincts
- Comfort operating as a department of one in the early phase, with judgement to build, buy, or partner
