Job Summary
Director Accounting Policy will join Athene's Accounting & Transactions Advisory Group to navigate and evaluate complex accounting transactions, engage with senior stakeholders on accounting matters, and drive innovation through AI. This role leads development and maintenance of Athene’s comprehensive Accounting Policy and Transaction Manual, provides guidance on transactions involving insurance contracts, reinsurance, M&A, pension group annuities, and related topics, and develops internal training for the Finance organization while coordinating with the AVP and broader teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (accounting focus preferred)
- CPA strongly preferred
- 8+ years of accounting experience
- Experience in US GAAP accounting for life and annuity insurance and reinsurance contracts, including LDTI
- Significant experience in US Statutory accounting for life and annuity insurance companies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
