Job Summary

Coordinate monthly close with the Global Business Service Center and lead quarterly US GAAP reporting and disclosure requirements. Oversee the revenue waiver and claims process, analyze revenue during month-end close to assist forecasting, and provide technical accounting advice on revenue, expenses, and deal structures. Guide financial decisions by establishing and enforcing policies while supporting SOX controls, internal control monitoring, and risk management initiatives. Lead two direct reports through coaching, goal setting, and performance appraisal processes. Drive process efficiencies and risk mitigation by developing solutions to improve financial accounting, reporting, and controls across the U.S. and Canada.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Active CPA or equivalent qualification
  • Strong revenue recognition and technical accounting experience under US GAAP
  • Strong knowledge of Internal Controls concepts and Sarbanes Oxley regulations
  • Proficiency with accounting & finance systems/software applications
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including senior level business and corporate partnering
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi-task
  • Influencer who uses analytical and leadership skills to achieve goals
  • Demonstrated effective leadership with ability to lead staff and develop business relationships across all levels
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative and strong team player
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently with cross functional partners
  • Drives continual process improvement agenda, demonstrated ability in challenging and improving processes
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to provide solutions that drive positive results
  • Abide by Mastercard's security policies and practices
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed
  • Report any suspected information security violation or breach
  • Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard's guidelines
