Job Summary
Lead the monthly close execution by reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all closing needs are met within ten days. Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions while developing accounting policies to drive efficiency. Prepare annual and interim financial information questionnaires, calculate deferred compensation, and track MLB salaries. Mentor the extended accounting team, set goals, and facilitate training. Support external auditors and tax accountants to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Provide financial insights to senior leadership and drive system improvements for automation and data accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or Finance
- CPA certification
- Must demonstrate a clear understanding and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
