Job Summary
Director, Accounting Advisory responsible for supporting and developing accounting policies and financial reporting under IFRS, participating in implementing new standards (IFRS), preparing and reviewing technical memos, and communicating standards to audiences. Collaborates with AVP and business groups, coaches managers, and contributes to external reporting for quarterly/annual statements. Requires CPA/CA/CMA/CGA designation, IFRS expertise (experience with IFRS 17 preferred), strong writing/presentation skills, problem solving, Stakeholder communication, organizational and project leadership capabilities, and the ability to navigate changing priorities in a hybrid Toronto-based role.
Required Qualifications
- Accounting designation is required (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA)
- Experience in accounting advisory
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS
- Strong problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills
- Strong writing and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities; organizational and project management skills
- Self-starter with accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team as well as with minimal supervision
- Hybrid work arrangement suitable for role
