Job Summary

Provide academic counseling and monitor the academic progress of assigned student-athletes, including class scheduling assistance and developing time-management plans for at-risk individuals. Coordinate study hall, tutoring, and individual meetings while serving as the instructor of record for the UNIV 1001 seminar course. Manage Life Skills, Career Development, and Privateer Community Outreach programming, liaising with faculty and Career Services to support student-athlete development. Ensure compliance with NCAA and Southland Conference rules by assisting with eligibility certification processes. Serve as a resource for coaches and parents during recruitment and assist with award programming honoring academic and athletic achievements. Requires a Master's degree, three years of higher education experience, and knowledge of NCAA eligibility rules.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education or working with high school students
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA academic eligibility rules and requirements
  • Proven ability to develop, establish and sustain relationships with various constituents
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekend and travel as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • 3 years of related experience in a Division I Athletics Department
  • Experience working with academically at-risk student populations, preferably football and/or basketball student-athletes
  • Working knowledge of Southland Conference rules and regulations
