Job Summary
Director of Academic Governance and Compliance responsible for ensuring KIPP Texas aligns with TEA mandates, state laws, federal policies, and accreditation standards. Leads policy execution, internal monitoring for SBOE rules, HEA/ESSA guidelines, and accreditation reviews; oversees self-study, evidence collection for Cognia/TEA charter renewal, and mock accreditation visits; tracks tutoring hours and CCMR plans; coordinates adoption and governance of instructional materials; collaborates across Academics, Data/PEIMS, Finance and Legal; publishes summaries of TEA policies and actions for leadership; ensures audit-ready documentation and 100% compliance with state reporting; supports title I requirements, and maintains governance documentation to safeguard funding and accreditation status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s in Public Policy, Educational Leadership, or JD preferred
- 5+ years of experience in school system administration, state compliance, or TEA policy
- Direct experience with the Charter School Performance Framework (CSPF) or regional accreditation processes is highly preferred
