Job Summary
Operate directional drilling equipment to install conduit, vaults, and underground infrastructure while verifying nearby utilities are exposed prior to drilling. Conduct daily equipment inspections, setup drills based on ground conditions, and read project prints to ensure efficient bore shots. Safely operate a pickup truck towing a trailer and use a hydro-vac for potholing and site cleanup. Maintain a clean work area, perform basic maintenance on drills, and adhere to all safety protocols. This role requires a CDL-A license, 2+ years of drilling experience, and the ability to lift up to 75lbs in various weather conditions. Candidates must be reliable, punctual, and able to travel out of state when required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of proven experience operating a directional drill/locating
- 2+ years of directional drill locating experience
- CDL-A license
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to maintain insurability under the company's auto policy
- Strong understanding of directional drilling techniques and utility installation
- Ability to read and interpret project prints
- Ability to perform physical labor and lift heavy objects
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to scoop, bend, and lift up to 75lbs
- Ability to travel out of state when required
