Directional Bore Operator / Locator

Job Summary
Load and unload directional bore equipment securely, transport tools and materials safely, and complete daily inspections prior to work. Prepare drill fluid based on site conditions and operate horizontal directional drill equipment to place cables in accordance with industry standards. Locate and verify cables against blueprints, identify utilities in the construction area, and connect or stub-up conduit and wire. Dig pits, trenches, or potholes as required, restore disturbed landscapes, and accurately complete all company documentation including timesheets and expense reports. Adhere to safety policies while working independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with constant interruptions. This role requires weekly travel with company-paid hotel expenses and per diem, and applicants must reside in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction prints, plans and specifications
- Knowledge of utility depths and placements
- Possess general knowledge of construction practices
- Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels
- Ability to work in trenches, manholes and tunnels
- Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks
- Ability to move materials/equipment weighing up to 80 pounds
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment with constant interruptions
- Able to work 10+ hours in a day when necessary
- Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions
- Weekly travel is required for this position

Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience operating a directional borer preferably in the telecommunications field
- Previous rock boring experience
- Class A CDL
