Job Summary
Seeking an Associate Director of Intellectual Property to provide effective legal advice on IP matters, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop IP strategies, manage patent preparation and prosecution, and handle IP-related transactions. Essential qualifications include a JD or LLB, a bachelor's degree in a technical field, and over 5 years of relevant legal experience, particularly in patents. The role requires a high-energy individual capable of managing priorities in a complex environment.
Required Qualifications
- JD or LLB and admission in good standing to at least one state bar or a member of a Canadian bar
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering or technical field
- 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
- Significant experience in patent preparation & prosecution
- Experience in patent opinion work (infringement and validity)
- Experience in patent litigation
Desired Qualifications
- Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Registered Canadian patent agent
- In-house legal experience
- IP transactional experience
- Strong litigation experience
Additional Requirements
- Fluent in French and very good knowledge of English required
