Job Summary

Seeking an Associate Director of Intellectual Property to provide effective legal advice on IP matters, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop IP strategies, manage patent preparation and prosecution, and handle IP-related transactions. Essential qualifications include a JD or LLB, a bachelor's degree in a technical field, and over 5 years of relevant legal experience, particularly in patents. The role requires a high-energy individual capable of managing priorities in a complex environment.

Required Qualifications

  • JD or LLB and admission in good standing to at least one state bar or a member of a Canadian bar
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering or technical field
  • 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • Significant experience in patent preparation & prosecution
  • Experience in patent opinion work (infringement and validity)
  • Experience in patent litigation

Desired Qualifications

  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
  • Registered Canadian patent agent
  • In-house legal experience
  • IP transactional experience
  • Strong litigation experience

Additional Requirements

  • Fluent in French and very good knowledge of English required
