Job Summary
Act as an advocate for individuals served by providing direct support for activities of daily living, including laundry, cleaning, cooking, meal prep, and personal care. Uphold the organization's mission by promoting the rights and dignity of each person, assisting in implementing Individual Service Plan goals, and maintaining a safe, healthy home environment. Monitor health, medical, and nutritional needs while administering medication for MAP certified staff, and engage residents in healthy activities such as gardening, sports, and arts. Safeguard confidentiality, provide required documentation and transportation, and respond to emergencies. Maintain regular communication with families, guardians, and stakeholders. Full-time and part-time hours available in Medford, MA.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of previous work experience with adults with disabilities
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Ability to lift 30lbs+
- Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in English
- Effective communication (verbal & written) and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand and comply with multiple regulatory requirements
- A valid Massachusetts/New Hampshire/Rhode Island driver's license
- a reliable vehicle
- a good driving history record
