Job Summary
Provide direct supervision and ensure the safety and security of youth aged 9-16 with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders. Deliver therapeutic interventions in a compassionate environment while teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors with positive reinforcement. Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living skills, including safety, self-care, and daily routines, within a 1-to-3 staff ratio. Complete required documentation such as progress notes and incident reports using adequate organizational and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license
- High School diploma or GED
- Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA
- Must be MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment if going to a Group Home setting
- Devereux drug-free workplace, drug screening required
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
- Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred
