Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities including personal care, hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and running errands. Prepare and maintain records of client progress, reporting changes to management. Promote mental alertness through age-appropriate activities and instruct clients on household management, hygiene, and nutrition. Participate in case reviews, attend required in-service training, and adhere to all agency policies. Requires a valid driver's license, automobile, and proof of car insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation
- Active listening skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references
- Must have an automobile
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of car insurance
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to engage in prolonged periods of standing, bending and lifting
