Job Summary
Support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities as a hands-on direct support professional while advocating for their informed decision-making and needs. Train and mentor direct support staff, and assist the residence manager in the operation and oversight of the residential program. This role requires a valid New York State driver's license, physical ability to lift over 50 pounds, and one year of direct support experience. Six months of leadership experience is preferred. The position offers a pay rate of $22-$23.55/hr, full-time status with 11 paid holidays, immediate vacation accrual, paid sick leave, and a retirement plan.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of High School diploma or High School Equivalency
- Valid New York State drivers' license that meets Heritage Christian Services motor vehicle standards
- Reliable transportation
- Physical ability to lift over 50 pounds and provide assistance to people who require support with transfers
- One year experience in direct support
