Job Summary
The Direct Support Specialist is responsible for teaching, modeling, and coaching activities of daily living, providing therapeutic feedback, and facilitating community-based activities. Key responsibilities include administering First Aid and CPR, ensuring client safety during transportation, maintaining confidentiality of health information, and documenting services provided. Essential qualifications include a high school diploma, good interpersonal skills, teaching skills, and the ability to provide care to individuals with disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Proof of automobile liability insurance
- Positive driving record
Additional Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Zero to one year full-time experience working with individuals who receive services for treatment of a mental health, substance abuse, intellectual disability, or physical health condition
