Job Summary
Assist individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in maximizing life goals by providing personal care, daily living assistance, and adaptive skills training including social skills, community supports, and budgeting. Develop Person Centered Plans for each individual to achieve specific goals and wishes while ensuring health, safety, and well-being in Day Activity Programs, Group Homes, or community environments. Provide meaningful activities based on preferences, offer transportation via company or personal vehicles, and participate in meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry. Document and administer medications as required, report areas of concern to supervisors, and respond to emergencies while collaborating as part of a team. Adhere to all regulatory standards and company training requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Safe driving record
- Valid NC ID
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen & background check
- Ability to read, write, follow instructions, read directions, and perform basic math
- Must be flexible and display a willingness to adapt to ever-changing environments due to the individual needs of the persons in our care
- Must be able to respond to emergencies, collaborate, and work as part of a team
- Must be comfortable being in close physical contact with individuals served
- Should be willing and able to use various and creative means of communication
- Ability to ascend and descend steps, stairs, van steps, ladders and step stools
- Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel while lifting a minimum of 50 pounds independently
