Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) needed for a community-based role in Summit, NJ, assisting an individual in daily living, transportation, and participation in community activities. Responsibilities include helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, housekeeping, meal preparation, teaching independent living skills, following individualized service plans, providing transportation to appointments and activities, promoting safety, and maintaining professional communication with guardians and agency staff. Ideal candidate is reliable, empathetic, patient, able to work independently one-on-one, and comfortable supporting social/recreational engagement in home and community settings.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Reliable personal vehicle (community-based support required)
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
- Authorized to work legally in the United States
