Job Summary
Direct Support Professional provides direct, person-centered residential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a COMHAR setting. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities and personal care, meal preparation and nutrition, household tasks, medication administration, safe operation of program vehicles, accurate documentation, crisis intervention, and participation in multidisciplinary training and quality improvement activities. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, a current PA Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, and at least six months of related experience in an IDD residential environment. Full-time and part-time shifts are available across multiple schedules, with a comprehensive benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- Current PA Driver's License; satisfactory driving record; eligible to operate program vehicles
- Six months of related experience in an IDD Residential facility or related environment
- Able to maintain confidentiality and privacy of all consumer records and information
- Able to acquire working knowledge of COMHAR policies and other applicable regulations
- Attention to details to ensure safety for residents and for safely operating program vehicles
- Able to work well with individuals with varying emotional and cognitive challenges
- Able to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Able to complete assignments in a timely manner while adhering to COMHAR procedures
